Only two seasons Costa Rica has several different micro-climates and weather patterns, from constant rain to months of desert like drought. In Guanacaste, region of the tropical dry forest there are only two seasons, winter and summer. The dry season is approxemetly from November to April and is called summer ?verano? by Costa Ricans. In the beginning of November there is usually less rain, from December it is dry, cloudless, sunny and hot. The winter ?invierno? starts in May with a little bit of rain, mainly in the afternoon or at night and is typical for the tropics: short but heavy. Therefore June-August is perfect. Everything gets green, looks fresh and the temperature drops a few degrees. During September and October there can be heavy rainfall at other times, and therefore a riding vacation in these months is not recommended, but since it is often clear in the mornings, if you have no other time, we can accomodate you.
